The Content Specialist position serves an important role on our Digital Marketing team by delivering content that attracts and engages target audiences. This person has strong SEO knowledge and skills that are applied to achieving client goals. This role also is able to apply the appropriate content strategy to the type of medium being used. As a team member, this person collaborates with other team members to provide innovative approaches to content development. This role directly reports to the Content Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Write compelling and effective content for a wide variety of topics and clients
- Create content that is polished, professional, and creates the desired results to provide the best impression possible
- Develop content for websites, emails, digital ads, infographics, social media campaigns, press releases, articles, case studies, award submissions and other media
- Conduct keyword research and implement on-page SEO/GEO best practices to optimize content for search engines and target audiences
- Collaborate with strategists and web developers to improve site structure, metadata, and internal linking to support organic visibility
- Monitor and report on SEO performance using tools like Google Search Console and SEMRush
- Continually recommend new and creative approaches to digital marketing campaigns
- Research, write and edit original content for video, animations, audio, and YouTube series
- Create questions and interview clients for content and video projects
- Research, write, and edit copy tailored for target audiences
- Produce polished copy deliverables, from concept innovation to final execution of copy
- Ensure brand consistency across project deliverables
- Deliver results by conducting A/B tests, analysis and adjusting as needed
Required Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research ability and identifying marketing content best practices
- Proficient at writing clear and concise messaging for a variety of clients, industries, and audiences
- Excellent at keyword planning and SEO
- Experience using generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) to support content ideation, drafting, and optimization
- Ability to successfully fulfill a content plan and strategy
- Ability to conduct A/B testing and analysis
Education and Experience
- Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, related field, or equivalent experience preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in content development, copy writing, and professional writing required
- 3+ years’ experience in lead generation, marketing or sales required
- 5 years relevant marketing experience preferred
- Email marketing experience preferred
- Experience using HubSpot or other CRM systems preferred
