The kids may be heading back to school, but here at Informatics, we never really took the summer off.
Our own data expert Maddie Shepard was busy prepping to start her master’s in business analytics at the University of Iowa, while our IT Administrator James Palas earned our agency’s fifth professional certification through the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network, or APN.
It might not have been as fun as the pool or riding our bikes, but at least the studying is paying off.
Informatics was recently named an APN Select Consulting Partner, making us only the second company in the Iowa City-Cedar Rapids Corridor, and one of only a handful in Iowa, to hold the designation. The APN Select Consulting Partner tier is reserved for professional and consulting firms that demonstrate expertise in helping customers use Amazon’s Cloud services.
Firms named to the APN Select Consulting tier must obtain a certain number of AWS certifications and have completed a minimum number of AWS Cloud projects—both are milestones that take time and expertise to reach. Here at Informatics, hitting the Select Consulting tier took about three years, according to Technology Director Kyle Kew.
“Being named an APN Select Consulting partner is the product of a lot of hard work, but it also comes with unique expertise that’s in high demand among the most innovative companies out there,” Kyle adds. “We can continue helping businesses of all sizes scale to modernize their infrastructure, while also mitigating IT risk."
What this means to you is we can offer a full spectrum of digital services, from marketing and web design to Amazon’s industry-leading cloud solutions. Whether you need hosting for your website or application, scalable online storage or virtual CPUs for data analysis and modeling, we can now offer it in collaboration with AWS.
Kyle says Informatics’ next stop is becoming an APN Advanced Consulting Partner, which requires even more knowledge and experience; fortunately, it also gives clients an even wider range of programs and capabilities. He expects that process to take around two years.
