What are Twitter Cards?

Twitter cards offer new ways to place rich content into your tweets. In the past, we have only been able to use 140 characters, and that included links and photos. With twitter cards, we are now able to add photos, videos, links, buttons, previews, and more while still maintaining our 140 characters.

What Can I Use Them For?

There are a variety of options when it comes to Twitter cards. Some are easier to create than others and some require your website developer in order to implement. According to Twitter, these cards can do the following:

  • Give control of how your content is displayed in tweets (i.e. photos and videos)
  • Drive traffic to your website
  • Increase the number of people following your twitter accounts through content attribution

If you are trying to think of different ways you can use Twitter cards, try some of these:

  • Introduce new products or services that your company is offering
  • Promote a new website launch
  • Share original videos and high-quality photos
  • Capture new email addresses
